Renee Gladman “One Long Black Sentence” book

An artist’s book of Renee Gladman’s fantastical drawings merging writing and architecture. Created from white and colored ink on black paper, these drawings were reproduced on full bleed black pages, as is a response by theorist and poet Fred Moten. The front and back cover features a drawing by Gladman embroidered in white thread on black cloth, and the book is finished with guilded black edges. The result is a sumptuous, solid-feeling object that allows Gladman’s drawings and Moten’s text to leap from its pages.
