Again and Again book
Photographer Peter Hoffman wandered through the neighborhoods of Christchurch, New Zealand a year after a significant earthquake destroyed much of the city and its coastal suburbs. The resulting book, Again and Again, explores the impermanence of place and how we cope with change and uncertainty. Moving images and text remind the reader of the ongoing unease felt by Christchurch’s residents, who were still encountering near daily tremors a year after the initial earthquake. A series of crashing waves printed on semi-translucent vellum open and close the book, a reminder of the march of time and the fierce power and beauty of nature.
